Bird & Davis Ltd manufacture many profiles of Artist Stretcher bars. The depths and widths vary. We feel its extremely important to choose the correct depth for your finished canvas. Therefore, we have compiled a list of Our Stretcher Frames and the various combinations available to give you your desired depths.
1¾" PROFILE
Width: 1¾" ( 45mm )
Depth: 3⁄8" ( 15mm )
Available in Artist & Student Quality. Mitred joints. This profile cannot take any Edging. We recommend that you only use this profile up to 36". This profile does not take bars.
2 ¼ PROFILE
Width: 2¼( 53mm )
Depth: ¾" ( 19mm )
Available in Artist Quality only. Mitred joints. This profile can take Edging. By adding the Edging strip to this profile your final depth would be: 1½" ( 38mm ) This profile can take Half & Centre bars. This profile can take Edging.
2¼ RAISED LIP PROFILE
Width: 2¼ ( 53mm )
Depth: ¾" ( 19mm )
Available in Artist Quality only. Mitred joints. This profile cannot take any Edging as it has a raised edge. This profile can take Half & Centre bars.
NEW 1¼" PROFILE
Width: 1¾" ( 45mm )
Depth: 1¼" ( 32mm )
Available in Artist Quality only. Mitred joints. This profile cannot take any Edging as it has a raised edge. This profile can take Half & Centre bars.
2¾" x 1¼" PROFILE
Width: 2¾" ( 65mm )
Depth: 1¼(32mm )
Available in Artist Quality only. Mitred joints. This profile can take Edging. By adding the Edging strip to this profile your final depth would be: 2" ( 51mm ) This profile can take Half & Centre bars.
EDGING STRIP
Width: 1" ( 26mm ) At base
Depth: ¾" ( 19mm ) At outside edge. This is added to the above profiles to give extra depth, this is also sold separately.
